About the event

When asked if he had cut down the cherry tree a young George Washington  told his father “I cannot tell a lie.” However, as an adult, America’s  original spymaster was a master of deception and, yes, lies. Spies,  Lies, and Unlikely Allies” is the story of spying during the American  Revolution. Washington’s spying activities levelled the playing field  against the British army, the most powerful in the world. As noted by  British Intelligence officer George Beckwith, “Washington did not really  outfight the British, he simply outspied us.”

Kevin Iverson, our presenter, has a B.A. in history from St. Could State University. He has over 25 years of expierence in presenting education programs with the National Park Service, community education, senior living facilities and civic clubs. He is very passionate about sharing his love of American history with others! And we are excited to have him here!
